The Masterflex Group welcomes seven new trainees

Seven new trainees at Masterflex Group

Gelsenkirchen, 1 August 2016 - Today marks the start of the careers of seven new trainees at the Masterflex Group. These apprentices will be employed at Masterflex SE (headquarters) and at two other members of the group (Matzen & Timm and Novoplast Schlauchtechnik) in various sectors to complete their traineeships, which will mainly have a duration of two to three years. At its German-based plants, the Masterflex Group provides training leading to a qualification as a management assistant (Industriekaufmann/-frau), a warehouse logistics assistant (Fachkraft für Lagerlogistik) or as a plastics and rubber processing engineer.

This year, there is one young member of our personnel who will be retaining his status as an apprentice. Although the young man passed his final exam with flying colours and is now officially qualified as a machine and plant operator, he also intends to train as an industrial mechanic (Industriemechaniker) over the next 18 months. "This is an ideal combination of qualifications and we are happy to enable him to acquire this," underlines Christina Neubauer, head of HR at the innovative hose manufacturer. "Learning is something we continue to do throughout our lives and in this case there is a particularly good fit."

During the years of their apprenticeships, those training as management assistants will have the opportunity to work in all administrative departments and thus become familiar with all the relevant business processes. Those working towards a technological qualification will be made familiar with the various aspects of production where they will be able to demonstrate their manual skills.

As all the subsidiaries of the Masterflex Group that are based in Germany manufacture their own speciality that forms part of the concern's product portfolio of hi-tech hoses and connector systems, the forms of training that are provided differ. The scope of products ranges from spiral and smooth hoses made in Gelsenkirchen and Halberstadt for use in the industrial and processing sectors, through thermoplastic and injection-moulded articles and particularly slender tubing made in Halberstadt and Wald-Michelbach for use in medical applications, to vulcanised items made in Norderstedt for use by the aerospace and automotive industries. This means that the Masterflex Group is able to provide particularly diverse training to its apprentices.
